Patriots vs Bears

Khalil Mack participated in the Bears’ final practice of the week on Friday, clearing the way for the edge rusher to play Sunday against the New England Patriots.

That’s high praise from a quarterback who has faced the Jacksonville Jaguars twice in the last 10 months and the Houston Texans once, and it illustrates just how talented this Bears D really is.

We’ll be sure to post the launch trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 here on GameZone once it goes live tomorrow morning. Despite the hype and anticipation, a recent “100-hour week” debacle might have affected the game’s reputation.

Mack also was asked what it has meant to him never to have missed a game but he still wanted no part of a health-related question.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported earlier Friday that the Bears expected Mack, who hasn’t missed a game in his career, to play after suffering an ankle injury early in Week 6’s 31-28 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

The Patriots have one injury of note: Starting tackle Marcus Cannon was ruled out with a concussion. Chicago is winless in four meetings since, the most recent coming in the form of a 51-23 beatdown at Gillette Stadium in 2014.

Wentworth by-election: Kerryn Phelps, Dave Sharma meet on polling day
Dr Phelps described her victory as a ” David and Goliath struggle” and a “great moment for Australian democracy”. Mr Sharma candidate told reporters he’d taken advice from former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull in recent days.

Nagy called Callahan’s absence “precautionary” and said Robinson not practicing after being limited Thursday wasn’t an indication of a setback. On Friday, he practiced for the first timethis week, although on a limited basis. The Patriots are coming off a big win at home after handing the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season last week.

Statistically, the Bears have the third-best defense overall this season and are fourth in points allowed. The Dolphins’ gameplan was to commit plenty of resources to stopping Mack, but he wasn’t effective even when he had one-on-one pass rushing opportunities as the game went on.

Mack was reminded he never has missed a game during his five National Football League seasons, a streak of 69. The positive momentum needs to go with them to Chicago to effectively play better on the road. Against a player of Mack’s caliber, that’s a tremendous performance.

The Bears’ second-leading receiver through five games, Robinson has 24 receptions for 281 yards and two touchdowns.

The Chargers are riding a hot streak where they’ve won three consecutive games to push their record to 4-2. Those two losses came against the Rams and Chiefs, arguably the best teams in the NFL right now.

A big reason for the Chargers early success is the play of veteran quarterback Philip Rivers. He’s thrown 15 touchdowns thus far and surrendered only three interceptions.

Tennessee (3-3) is coming off being shutout by the Ravens 21-0. The game before that they lost 13-12 to Buffalo and narrowly won the previous game in overtime.

For the third consecutive week, the Carolina Panthers will be able to reap the media benefits of playing against a team in the NFC East. But it isn’t just any team in the division that they’re playing: It’s the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles, whose rise to prominence in one of the biggest markets in professional sports and telegenic young quarterback have made them media darlings. With the Panthers and Eagles meeting for the second year in a row, this time in Philadelphia, the Panthers’ game against the Eagles will be one of the most-anticipated of Week Seven’s early-afternoon window.

The Panthers’ Week Seven game against the Philadelphia Eagles will be broadcast on FOX (WJZY in the Charlotte area). Part of FOX’s early-afternoon window, the Panthers’ game will be seen by the majority of the country: In the eastern part of Pennsylvania, and then throughout the southeast, through the great plains, and all the way to the West Coast. Other games in FOX’s early-afternoon window include the Minnesota Vikings against the New York Jets, the Cleveland Browns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Detroit Lions against the Miami Dolphins. A coverage map for the game has been provided by 506sports.com.

For the third-straight week, FOX’s commentary team will include play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert and color analyst Charles Davis, with Pam Oliver reporting from the sidelines. Meanwhile, the Panthers’ radio broadcast will once again be aired on WBT-AM 1110 AM in the Charlotte market, with Mick Mixon, Jim Szoke, Eugene Robinson, and Kevin Donn alley on the call. A Spanish language broadcast will also be aired on WGSP 102.3 FM, with Jaime Moreno and Luis Moreno Jr. on the call.

The Panthers have provided both a list of radio affiliates and a link to listen to the Panthers’ radio broadcast online via their official website. The Panthers’ radio broadcast will feature a full eight hours of coverage, with three hours of pre-game content and two hours of post-game.

Here is a complete recap of broadcast information for the Carolina Panthers’ Week Seven game against the Philadelphia Eagles, which kicks off at 1 PM EST.

With the Panthers coming off of a disappointing loss to the Washington Redskins, they now face a rather difficult situation heading to Philadelphia to face an Eagles team that has had a long week of rest and is feeling good about themselves after crushing the New York Giants to get back to .500. But the Eagles are not without their problems, as they have not looked nearly so indomitable as they did in 2017 and are dealing with injuries throughout their roster.

Vanderbilt vs Kentucky

If the oddsmakers’ predictions hold true, the near future looks bright for Kentucky. Their bye week comes to an end as they meet up with Vanderbilt at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Kentucky have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability Vanderbilt are surely hoping to exploit.

Kentucky fought the good fight in their overtime game two weeks ago but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. Kentucky didn’t finish too far behind, but the team still lost 14-20 to Texas A&M. Kentucky’s defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Vanderbilt came up short against Florida last Saturday, falling 27-37. This makes it the second loss in a row for Vanderbilt.

With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. Vanderbilt’s offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Kentucky defensive front that amassed four sacks against Texas A&M, so we’ll see if they are up to the task.

UConn vs South Florida

Compare odds and from multiple different online sportsbooks and shop for the best lines at our new College Football Odds & Betting Page.

According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, South Florida is heavily favored at home, as the Bulls are getting odds of -34 points against Connecticut. The over/under total is currently listed at 69 points. The public betting for this game currently has 54 percent going on Connecticut on the road. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our College Football Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Connecticut hasn’t been able to get on track this season. The Huskies have lost three straight, all by at least 30, to fall to 1-5 on the season. UConn is also 0-3 in the AAC, 0-5-1 against the spread and 3-3 with the over/under total. The Huskies have hit the under in three straight.

Connecticut has one of the worst defenses in the nation, giving up an average of 53.7 points and 658.2 yards per game. They are giving up over 300 yards rushing and passing per game on average. That’s pretty incredible. On offense, UConn is putting up just 20.3 points and 375.2 yards per game. Quarterback David Pindell is doing what he can. He has thrown for 1,122 yards and nine touchdowns with five interceptions while rushing for 467 yards and five scores. Kevin Mensah is adding 407 rushing yards.

South Florida got a scare on the road last week, but pulled out a narrow 25-24 win at Tulsa to stay unbeaten. The Bulls come into this game 6-0 overall, 2-0 in the AAC, 2-4 against the spread and 4-2 with the under.

The Bulls have been putting up a lot of offense in 2018, averaging 35.2 points and 487.3 yards per game thus far. Running back Jordan Cronkrite is leading the offense with 757 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Quarterback Blake Barnett is adding 1,545 passing yards with nine touchdowns and five interceptions. Defensively, USF could be better. The Bulls are giving up an average of 25 points and 402.2 yards per game. The run defense is suspect, allowing 214 yards per contest.

Connecticut has hit the under in six of its last eight conference games and in 12 of its last 17 after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game.

South Florida has hit the under in five of its last six conference games and in six of its last eight home games.

South Florida can certainly score and I am sure the Bulls will score a lot in this game, but can they score enough? Connecticut hasn’t done much offensively against any team of merit. If the Huskies were to have any success on offense, it’s likely going to have to come on a sustained drive, because they don’t seem capable of big-play offense. That would only take the ball away from USF more and limit the total scoring. With the total close to 70, I just don’t see Connecticut doing enough to help it go over.

UCF vs East Carolina

UCF will be playing 60 minutes this week, but they’re expected to have things wrapped up well before that. They will challenge East Carolina on the road at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded after having run the length of the field multiple times (UCF picked up 461 yards, East Carolina 415).

UCF can thank their lucky stars for their win over Memphis last Saturday. The final score was a hard-fought 31-30. Among those leading the charge for UCF was Taj McGowan, who rushed for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the oddsmakers predicted a rough matchup for East Carolina, and boy were they were right. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 20-42 walloping at Houston’s hands. East Carolina were down by 6-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

UCF’s victory lifted them to 6-0 while East Carolina’s loss dropped them down to 2-4. With four turnovers, East Carolina had trouble holding onto the ball. We’ll see if UCF exploit that vulnerability.

NC State vs Clemson

NC State vs Clemson : The ACC Atlantic Division is on the line as NC State travels to Death Valley to take on Clemson in a battle of the last two unbeaten teams in the ACC. The matchup features two gifted quarterbacks on opposite ends of the experience spectrum: a 2018 NFL Draft prospect in Ryan Finley and Clemson’s still-budding freshman Trevor Lawrence, who was not even in high school yet when Finley started his college career at Boise State.

NC State vs Clemson live NCAA Football

The duel of these two quarterbacks and these two offenses has set the stage for an impressive showdown that will award a head-to-head advantage likely to decide who represents the Atlantic in the ACC Championship Game. For Clemson, the three-time division champs, getting past NC State has not been easy. Each of the last two games has been decided by a touchdown and the last time they played in Death Valley the game went overtime after the Wolfpack missed a field goal to win in regulation. For both teams, this appears to be the toughest game left on the schedule. But only one can continue down the open road to the College Football Playoff reserved for the undefeated conference title contenders.

Storylines ,NC State: The Wolfpack not only have an NFL-caliber quarterback but an elite wide receiver room, and Finley has kept defenses off balance by spreading the ball around. Jakobi Meyers, Kelvin Harmon and Emeka Emezie all rank in the top 10 among ACC players in receptions per game, and they’re going to be counted on to win one-on-one battles against Clemson defenders to keep drives alive on Saturday. Teams have been able to find success moving the ball through the air against Clemson this year, and in a game where the Wolfpack are staring down that tenacious Tigers defensive line, it’s going to be important for the wide receivers not only to come up with tough catches down the field but make plays in the quick passing game.

Clemson: Dabo Swinney has been more than comfortable playing “old school” ball since naming Lawrence the team’s starting quarterback, relying on his offensive line and a breakout sophomore season from Travis Etienne to power the offense while the freshman gets his sea legs. But with Clemson coming in after a week off, look for Lawrence to get unleashed a little bit and push the ball down the field. “Old school” ball is good enough for Clemson to win the ACC — they had that with Kelly Bryant a year ago — but Swinney knows they need something more to be able to win a national championship, and that’s why Lawrence, the more gifted downfield passer, is the starter.

Game prediction, picks,Dave Doeren an this NC State staff have a pretty good feel for Clemson right now. Lawrence is ultimate wild card here — and possibly why the Tigers are favored by more than two touchdowns despite the last two games being decided by 14 points — but if Deshaun Watson, in a national championship year, had trouble with NC State at home I think Lawrence might as well. Clemson wins, but by 7-10 points

Alabama vs Tennessee

The former Tennessee coach will be wearing Crimson on the sidelines for No. 1-ranked Alabama and coach Nick Saban when the Volunteers and former Alabama defensive coach Jeremy Pruitt hosts the Tide.

Alabama’s last obstacle before a Western Division showdown with No. 5 LSU is a longtime Southeastern Conference rival it has treated as little more than a speed bump for over a decade.

Alabama vs Tennessee Live NCAA Football

Yet the top-ranked Crimson Tide say they’re taking nothing for granted heading into Saturday’s matchup at Neyland Stadium. They have too much understanding of this rivalry and too much respect for the familiar face who has taken over Tennessee’s program.

“To me, it’s a big game,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said. “It doesn’t matter what happened last year or 10 years ago. What’s going to happen this week is the most important thing and how our players look at that and respond to the challenges with a confident team now. They just had a big win.”

Tennessee (3-3, 1-2 SEC) is a coming off a 30-24 victory at Auburn that knocked the Tigers out of the Top 25. The road triumph marked Tennessee’s first signature win under new coach Jeremy Pruitt, who spent the last two seasons as Alabama’s defensive coordinator.

Alabama, a 28 1/2-point favorite, has beaten Tennessee each of the last 11 years by an average margin of 24.5 points. The only close calls during the streak came when Terrence Cody blocked a field goal as time expired to preserve a 12-10 triumph in 2009 and when Derrick Henry’s go-ahead touchdown with 2:24 left gave the Tide a 19-14 victory in 2015.

“We’ve got to do our part to create this rivalry again,” Pruitt said. “It’s not been much of a rivalry the last few years.”

Even though Alabama and Tennessee’s players were in elementary school the last time the Vols beat the Tide, both teams realize this annual matchup still means plenty to both fan bases.

“This is probably my favorite Tennessee rivalry,” Tennessee offensive tackle Trey Smith said. “When I was growing up, I was a big Alabama fan, there’s no hiding that. My room back home is crimson. I’ve watched them growing up all my life. I always told myself growing up I would be in this rivalry game, either wearing crimson or orange. I made my decision, wearing orange. This rivalry means a lot to me.

Alabama quarterback and Heisman Trophy front-runner Tua Tagovailoa aggravated a sprained right knee last week, causing him to leave a 39-10 victory over Missouri early. Saban says Tagovailoa is feeling “probably better this week than he was last week.”

Saturday’s game marks the return of former Tennessee coach Butch Jones, who went 34-27 with the Vols from 2013-17 before getting fired last November. Jones is working on Alabama’s support staff as an offensive analyst. Tide running back Josh Jacobs says Alabama wants to make sure Jones gets a chance to smoke a postgame cigar, something the winning team traditionally does in this rivalry. “He’s never smoked the cigar before,” Jacobs said. “We’re trying to make that a goal of his.”

Alabama is outscoring opponents 137-31 in the first quarter and 268-44 in the first half. Tennessee has been outscored 41-16 in the first quarter. Making matters worse for Tennessee is that linebacker and leading tackler Daniel Bituli must sit out the first half because he drew a targeting penalty late in the Auburn game.

Tennessee’s offense had a breakthrough performance last week when offensive coordinator Tyson Helton left the coaches’ box and instead worked the game from the sideline. Pruitt said Helton will stay on the sideline this week.

Tennessee is playing its first game since losing outside linebacker Jonathan Kongbo to a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Tennessee tight end Dominick Wood-Anderson got hurt against Auburn and will be a game-time decision. The status of safety Micah Abernathy is uncertain after he missed the Auburn game with an ankle injury. Alabama receiver DeVonta Smith pulled a hamstring against Missouri and didn’t practice early this week.
